Don’t you just love how the sport is gaining more and more support over the years?
Consider this as another milestone — donning a pair of Australian players, Richard Gomez and some of the country’s best Volleyball players, the Philippine national team plunged into action in the ongoing Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship. The PLDT Home TVotuion team is currently with a 1-1 scorecard after winning against Altain Bars of Mongolia (3-0) and losing against Gas Al-Janoob of Iraq (0-3).
And it does help that there’s so much eye candy in the different teams.
Check out team profiles on the #Fibrasianvball site.
I would head on over to team Green Dragon Hong Kong and check out Wong Ka-Wai and Wong Ho-Kiu 🙂
The 2014 PLDT HOME Fibr Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship is the first time the Philippines is hosting and participating in the tournament. The Philippine hosting also holds the distinction of being the most participated edition of the tournament with a record number of 18 countries set to play. The winner of the tournament will represent Asia in the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship in Betim, Brazil.
The country’s hosting also signals the renewal of commitment by the Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF) to form the National Team for men and women. Through this competition, the PVF also aims to raise the level of awareness and interest of Filipinos for men’s volleyball and to promote and develop the men’s club competition in the Philippines. The PVF also wishes to regain the trust and confidence of the FIVB through constant participation and hosting of FIVB and AVC competitions.
If you’re still looking for tickets, just tweet me on @boy_in_plaid, have a couple of season passes left! (Thanks to Tin Rementilla of PLDT!)
