Miss Universe 2011 Contestants

(Note: This has been written months ago, so this list is outdated. Will update as soon as there are 10 more candidates)

Our Binibini queens have been crowned, and we’re left anticipating for the big pageant coming later this year.

A few nights ago Shamcey Supsup has won the Binibining Pilipinas – Universe title, and she’ll represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant this coming September in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Now I have to admit I wasn’t the biggest Supsup fan when the competition started. I prefer Diana Arevalo, and Sabrinne Al-Tawil, but now that she’s representing the Philippines, I think we should all be behind her. I guess Stella Araneta saw her rawness as refreshing, and exceptional, given how much pageant patties she’s encountered, year in, year out. And hello, this time hindi na tayo kakabahan sa Q&A. That is, kung aabot siya dun.

I’m really getting a Penelope Cruz vibe from her walk and face. Maybe that’ll make her standout in Brazil?

Why don’t you judge yourself how Shamcey fares against other Miss Universe contestants in terms of beauty of face:

In all fairness to Shamcey, I think she has a legitimate shot at making the top 15 although more than 25 countries have yet to crown their queens. Most of the contestants are law students, or models, and Shamcey as an architect already stands out. She can already say that she’s breaking barriers as a woman in this male dominated industry. But sad to say that I don’t think she’s a frontrunner :(

I’m also rooting for the other Asians in the pageant. Check out Miss Korea, and Malaysia, fighter right?

So, what can you say about Shamcey’s face in comparison to those of other national beauties? :)

  1. Oh my god, you’re right Ms. Korea is gorgeous! I also love Miss Czech Republic’s look. But Ms. Thailand? Meh. Kulang nlng speech bubble saying “Looking for a good time?”

I’ll go google other photos of Shamcey. I want to see something a little less photoshopped. Plus, she kinda looks topless na in the pic, wehehe. As you said, she has a Penelope Cruz thing going on, plus a bit of Bea Alonzo. Seriously, cover the lower half of her face and you’ll seee!

  2. SHAMCEY SUPSUP: Beauty, Brains and Beyond
    By ARIEL ALLERA
    (laraduttallerariel@yahoo.com)

A beauty-and-brains combo can be quite challenging to find among pageant contestants. More often if a candidate is too pretty, her I.Q. (Intelligence Quotient) is hardly high enough to finish the sentence and bring to the table. There may be others who are blessed with a little bit of everything — lovely face, smooth skin, curvy figure, height of five-feet-seven or better, or just enough guts to say something during question-and-answer.

But if you’re judging a beauty contest, and there’s one girl onstage standing before you, alongside her equally gorgeous fellow contestants, and you knew that she graduated with Latin honors and she was a board topnotcher, why would you have to look around and find someone else?

This year, our country has chosen its national queen whose charm is as unquestionable as her wit. Crowned Binibining Pilipinas – Universe 2011, Shamcey Supsup has proven a woman’s worth by defining beauty at par with brains.

She’s not the first title-holder who has graduated Magna Cum Laude (from the University of the Philippines-Diliman), but her placing first in the 2010 Architecture Licensure Examination is what makes most of us hold her in higher esteem — than winning that coveted crown of the night. In a country where kids are told to study hard as soon as they start going to school, Supsup will serve as a role model for young girls out there who want to make a stride into the world of pageantry.

While most national beauty contests require girls to be at least high school graduates who are between 18 years old and 25, a completed undergraduate educational attainment will still be the best preparation, let alone weapon.

Not only will it have molded their minds, thus making them more confident throughout the competition, from pre-pageant interviews to the final question-and-answer in the coronation night, it will be easy for the winner to fulfill her duties and responsibilities during her reign. And then, she can pursue her long-term dream, be it in show business, or in the corporate world, or in the medical profession.

It depends, though, on the girl’s physical potentiality, experience, exposure and mental preparedness. Mutya Ng Pilipinas 1993 Michelle Aldana was still studying Speech and Drama at the University of the Philippines-Diliman when she joined the pageant. Her stunning stature, smart spontaneity and fresh Filipina beauty won for our country the last Miss Asia-Pacific title.

Supsup will be competing in the Miss Universe pageant come September, to be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. There’s no question to the way former Miss Universes have been selected, but it goes without saying that results are always unpredictable and that we can only expect the unexpected.

Our country has sent sexier and prettier delegates to all international beauty pageants out there, but to no avail. We might as well support someone like Shamcey Supsup whose resume is as eloquent as her personality, a representative who can interact well with her co-candidates, the organizers, the press, the sponsors, the bigwigs as well as the locals of the host country.

Never mind the Final Question segment, for we cannot blame delegates who answer in their mother tongue. Intelligence is not measured by someone’s command of English, in a country where they’re using their native language as medium of instruction. But if we talk about a non-English speaking finalist’s gist in her answer, only the interpreter can admit to either translating her thoughts as is, or glossing over its content to make it sound more sensible.

And if, God willing, Shamcey Supsup brings home the crown this year, then she will be the third Miss Universe from the Philippines. However, she will always be a full-fledged, one-of-a-kind icon of beauty and brains, born to be our country’s cream of the crop, donning the sash as the Philippines’ most beautiful woman, wearing the medal for being the most intelligent architect around.

    • I admit that to win the Miss Universe you must be darling of the press, you will stands out among the contestants in the way you walk and talk and the way you look in all kinds of dress you wear. Intelligence is vey important as you will influence people to fight against AIDS and other diseases. Nevertheless, she must have the confidence to win. Venus Raj at 5’9″ looks gorgeous in the way she walk and talk. But Shamcey is more beautiful and intelligent than her.

      • How can you say Shamcey is more beautiful and intelligence then Venus. That is offensive to the core. How can you make such an upsurd comparison. Both girls are equally beautiful, as far as intelligence , i haven’t seen or heard Shamcey say or do anything that would qualify her as being more intelligent. Well the contest is over with now. And there’s one thing that Venus outshone Shamcey with, is that she did not bring her narrow minded views, Shamcey demonstrated to the judges that she did not have the open mind and tolerance to represent young women of the world. With all her intelligence, she was out witted by her bias. She had a good chance of winning.

      • I think shamcey should spend lot of time in the gym to develop her curves, cause that’s the only think lacking from her.

      • Shamcey really stands out among other girls, ASIANS really prepared for this EVENT ^_^ they’re really fighters. Let’s see if Shamcey will make it to the top. moreover, Ms. Malaysia is really Gorgeous and Pretty. GO ASIANS!

      • i would say congratulations in advance shamcey.whatever happens during the pageant whether u make it or not.ur still the no.1 in our hearts and mind.ur still the best.we salute you for making our country proud.

  4. oh my god
    miss south korea
    really beautiful
    hopefully
eg in the event universe in 2011 was to win korea

    n
    survivors struggling for Miss Indonesia

    • She’s very pretty! Good chance of winning. But I am biased for the Philippines ahhaha
      thanks for commenting!

      • I agree Miss Venezuela looks very old. Another thing ive noticed is how different she looks in various photos ive seen. I think its her nose~new nose?

  5. this is one of the most incredible blogs Ive read in a very long time. The amount of information in here is stunning, like you practically wrote the book on the subject. Your blog is great for anyone who wants to understand this subject more. Great stuff; please keep it up!

    Miss USA 2011 contestants

  6. I my opinion Czech Republic, Korea, Kosovo, Russia, Slovak Repiblic, Ukran are al worthy of the crown…. But Mexico might take it again!!!!!

  7. I think Indonesia and Malaysia are beautiful too. I love the way that Indonesian beauty makes love with the camera. Rrr

  8. There is no such thing as beauty and brains. Normally you have to sacrifice one from the other. When I consider Shamcey Supsup as Philippine representative to Miss U, she well deserves it. But don’t forget, in an international stage the magna cum laude plum and her brains do not set her apart from the rest of the candidates. Judges pick the one that shines and differs from the rest. I have not seen anything from her that I would consider “wow” factors to put her on top of Miss U candidates. She is just at par when it comes to projection with the rest of the pack. Only if you knew that the Diliman magna cum laude is a great honor then you will think, yes she is better than the rest. But how many judges know this ? She has to be brisk with answers to the questions, you maybe intelligent but being smart and cocky are another. Her voice is lame and soft, it is difficult to fathom that she is academically smart. When judges ask questions, they are so attracted to the wit and spontaneity of the candidate. I do not see that in Shamcey. With just just few slots for semifinals, it will be a disappointing event for RP delegate again. Most magna cum laudes should just stay in academic world not in a beauty pageant world stage that has changed its directions. Judges and audience want atractive face and sexy figures, let’s face it, they will not dig into your academic records.

    • Lets not be too negative :)

I think that we should just support Shamcey. If you wanna be proactive about it, find a way to email her, or her mgt. Lets not resort to walang “beauty and brains”

    • She’s one of the ‘common’ Ms. Philippines title holder that I knew of. Pretty, but I don’t know of there is something extraordinary about her. I see nothing striking about her that can make her stand out in the big Ms. Universe scene. She’ll be overshadowed by many smart, witty, overly-articulate, spontaneous and gorgeous Ms. U. contestants.out there. She’ll come home bringing nothing. I hope I am mistaken.

    • i think baldomero youre right!!! when I was the Bb pilipinas BP, I wonder why the hell did they chose shamcey. She is not a stunning beauty, she walks unnaturally esp in the gown portion, she doesnt sound smart and brainy in the QA (without impact) and her face lacks the x factor. Why cant they copy how they select winners in other countries. It is there, everybody can see the likes of being a beauty queen but the filipino organizers are just blind or still never want our country to be the winner When miss botswana won the pageant, we know it is the flowery words in her answer that made her clinch meriams supposed miss u crown. We should find a delegate that knows how to answer questions smartly and not just a brainy candidate…

      • you doubt it….??
im not into miss india 2011..
but in case you forgot…INDIA has 2 Miss Universe Crown
and 5 Miss World Crown……to which the Philippines do not have

      • doubt it….???

im not into miss india 2011…but
in case you forgot…..INDIA has 2 Miss Universe Crown
and 5 Miss World Crown…..to which the Philippines dont have any

lets just wait on September 12, 2011 and we will see who will win Miss Universe 2011

        Miss Philippines – Winner..!?!?
        I VERY MUCH DOUBT IT

      • I don’t think Shamcey will win Miss Universe 2011 — but that doesn’t mean I don’t support her =)

      • dont get me wrong….
i want the Philippines to be back on the Miss Universe Winners List
The last crown was in 1973 with Margarita Moran
… but that is 37 years too long ago
i wasnt even born….a decade after that
our highest achievement was in 1999 with Miriam Quiambao as 1st Runner Up
not even the too much publicized Venus Raj can beat that
… but Runner Up is not a Winner

      • having alot crowns and titles doesn’t prove anything for future competitors. no one cares who the past winners are…all that matters now is the new winner. Another thing…Miss World isn’t as prestigious as Miss Universe so who cares if India has a million Miss World Crowns. No one does! Get a grip!

  9. Hi just wanted to let you know that you can add Miss Trinidad & Tobago to this line up, her name is Gabrielle Walcott. :-) Thank you

  10. Miss Ukraine Miss Kosovo Miss Korea and MIss Switzerland look wonderfull..
P.S. Miss Philipinereeesss how can i forget her .. you should see MIss Albania Xhesika Berberi very beautiful <3

  11. Miss Philippines you are the best of all! not only beauty you have one but you have a good brain and good standard academic. miss Philippines she looked gorgeous too. but we didn’t know the judges decission.
judges they choose who will be their favorite beauty queen. academic standard i think is not necessary to the judges. they looked their favorite beauty queen and the countries favorite who are the top standard riches
countries that lucky beauty queen to bring home the crown. but miss Philippines do your best! good luck!

    • Thanks for commenting Lyn! Haha. I’m sure it’ll factor in, how smart she is. And I bet she’ll be very competitive :)

  12. After reviewing almost 60% of the candidates already in for the Miss Universe 2011…. Shamcey Supsup caught my eyes. She’s so beautiful…. and her arc rival is either Miss Mexico and Miss Malaysia. The only questionable for Shamcey Supsup…. is the gown. I wish Madam Stella Marquez Araneta must and should provide the best elegant gown for her…. A gown which is really fit and made for a beauty queen winner. Because a wrong choice off gown can prevent her from winning as she is already a winner to me.

  13. Shamcey Supsup representing the Philippines for the Miss Universe 2011…. is the winner to me.

  14. i must all are gorgeous ! each of them has their own individuality … appearence does not reflects personality rather personality represents appearence !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. Mexico, Israel, Puerto Rico, Ukraine, Kosovo, Costa Rica, and USA… but i’m sure there are lots of contestants missing on this list, and you can’t tell whose gunna win just from face pics or even full body shots, they gotta be seen in person etc.

  16. This is my list…
Miss Venezuela, Miss Angola, Miss Costa Rica, Miss Kosovo, Miss Spain, Miss Ukraine, Miss Malassia, Miss Puerto Rico, Miss Dominican Republica, Miss Korea. Im Waiting for Miss Brasil,Miss Argentina, Miss Chile. By the way, I don¨t think this is the year of Philippines. My pick is Angola ….

Then we will se the cat wallking: Miss Venezuela, Miss Puerto Rico ….. And we are waiting for the rest.

      • will get your hoPE 4 shamcey… b-cause shes is not beautiful and shes just a SMART but as an archItect……….. unlike others… they are LAW students……

  17. please i want to have the winner from othe countries …… enough with latina beauties……..obvious…… i hope trump have a fair decision this time……… i think latina will be the winner this time……i have the feelings….

  18. shamcey…… versus miss KOREA
    big difference….
    owsssssss
not for miss philippines….. shes only a architect………
unlike others a law students and models…
    ….. SUrrENdER……. miss SHAMCEY……
    ………=(

  19. Miss Kosovo is very beatyful and has an amazing body, I hope she’ll win a good place. But I have to say that it’s hard competition this year on Miss Universe.

    • i think your wrong……… shes just an architect…….. unlike others they are LAW students……. haha…. your like an idiot……

      • it doesnt matter wether ur a law student or architect…the question is….does that korean ms universe knws how to speak n english??????

      • Hahaha no hatin’ please! :) The Miss Universe pageant should teach us all how appreciate the beauty of people from different nationalities =)

I’m sure a translator is allowed btw!

  20. I think this year’s delegate Miss Malaysia quite stand out not like the past years.
she had that kind of body. For Miss Korea?? I doubt that. Her arms quite big, her abs’s too wide, and so as her hips and leg.
I do believe that Miss Venezuela will be in the top 15, and so as Miss USA

      • shes not… beautiful… UGLY girl…… so EEEEEW
look miss ANGOLA… shes so exotic…… shes a FACE of this WORLD………..
        ………………….uniVERSE

  21. sige, tingnan na lang natin sa pageant kung talagang karapat dapat talaga si shamcey sa top 10, miss malaysia is also lovely at abangan ang representative ng u.s.a. halos magaganda lahat ng u.s. state delegates ,minsan di rin nakukuha sa q and a yan ,sa height din at sa bone structure tulad ni venus raj, hope tama ang BPCI sa napili nilang i represent good luck na lang…..wag over confident dahil masakit pag bumagsak ka ng mataas…..just pray and enjoy the event ms shamcey

  22. hope BPCI select the right ms philippines to kick on magic 10, i admit i like ms malaysia also u.s. got the strong and gorgeus ladies to represent u.s.a..so dont get over confident ms. shamcey . time and future will tell whose who for ms U. is there a filipina lady duplicate like venus raj?

  23. MISS USA (no picture) is definitely classy and hot.
MISS MALAYSIA is NOT a beauty contest material. She’s more of a SUPERMODEL.

      • I think you got it wrong.. she actually holds a B. Sc. degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Queensland, in Brisbane, Australia… not New south wales… Her focus are on human rights advocacy and sustainable development with a long term goal to eradicate poverty… so, it’s very perfect for Miss universe objective… =)

  26. Latina contestants will always have the upper hand over Asian contestants and this is a fact. Opinions are opinions, but facts are facts. Shamcey has nothing special that makes her stand out as a competitive contestant. Sorry. Enough of this babble of her being an architect. All the ladies are intelligent in their chosen profession. This is a beauty pageant. With that said, the ladies need to be stunning to win and if they are intelligent (which can vary) that can bolster their chances. Lets be real and honest: The only people who think that Shamcey has a chance are Filipinos themselves, the rest of the world dont even acknowledge her in the top 10.

My favs (In no order): Korea, Colombia, Mexico and Kosovo

    • no its not true…..because i am a Filipina and i dont think also shamcey is a stunner at miss u 2011…….i believed that the organization who chose miss supsup has the big mistake on it because there are many stunning beauty during the local pageant and i am wondering why miss supsup won the title….i dont believed the idea that she is intelligent that is why she is deserving to be the representative of the philippines……..

      • I appreciate the choice of BCPI (the MISS U PH franchise holder) and whether we win or not, I’m happy that they chose someone who can truly be a great example to girls and women everywhere. Not only is she smart, but she is a natural beauty — no surgery whatsoever, and she’s REAL in every sense of the word. Not like pageant patties who have their own identity altered to fit the mold. Its a clear message not only to us Filipinos, but to the whole world as well.

      • helloooooo… maybe u have bitterness in your heart? don u??????? instead of blaming other people why they choose Ms. Supsup… Bakit d u nalang mag pray for the success of our country!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! even she will win or not, the fact that she represent our country, we must be happy for her diba????? that’s why until now minamaliit ang FILIPINO just because sa katulad mo????? Imagine nakikipag argument ka with your own race?????? ok lang sana if puro PINOY ang naglalaban… HEllooooo????????? I do not know Ms. Supsup personally but I believed her, the ORGANIZATION u said na palpak in choosing her ay may K naman suguro for deciding na si Ms. Supsup will represent diba?????? Bakit noong si Ms. raj ang naging contestant wala kayong na say?????? Stop for our being crab mentality……kaya walang asenso ang Pipipinas kasi lagi nyo nalang sinisisi kung d man ang government ang ibang tao….. If I were you palitan mo nalang ang mga pumili k Ms. Supsup para matahimik ka… Tingnan natin kung ano ang magagawa mo…. Always remember na ang maingay na ilog……. mababaw????????????? KUHA MO????????

but the Philippines still end up as a loser
      a Fourth Place Loser

I want the Philippines to win
Hopefully we dont get another MAJOR MAJOR Loser this year

  30. Let’s Go Cayman Isladns….Cristin Alexander is gorgeous. Don’t just look at the countries that usually get selected to make your choice. Thier are some beautiful girls in the islands.

  31. …Puert Rico is such a tiny island yet it has had 5 Miss Universe titles? Wow…and 2011 could bring a 6th! It must have the most beautiful and most intelligent ladies in the world.

  32. There are tons of beautiful women in these photos I must admit, but I’ve seen a lot these ladies’ cat walks and they’re too bland. Mark my words Mexico has a big chance of taking the crown this year again. She is fierce on that cat walk, and she leaves no room to nervousness.

  33. GREAT REVIEW! I agree with all you said in your post, especially at the end of your article. Thank you, this info is very useful as always. Keep up the good work! You’ve got +1 more reader of your blog:) Isabella S.

  34. Claudia Schiess, Miss Ecuador 2011, is twenty years old. She is so beautiful, she has a nice body; she has natural beauty. She doesn’t have any cosmetic surgeries as many other candidates. She is elegant. Miss Ecuador is a student of commercial engineering, she speaks four languages, including English. She is a professional dancer, and a make up artist. She is young and she has accomplished many things in life.
We hope that this year, the judges of Miss Universe 2011 act with justice and select her among the finalist and then crown her as Miss Universe 2011. She has all the attributes/qualifications to well represent the beauty of the women of the world and be crowned Miss Universe 2011.
Keep in mind all her attributes.

    • FOR A BEAUTY CONTEST, CANDIDATES SHOULD BE NATURAL BEAUTIFUL, NOT BEAUTIFUL WITH COSMETIC/ PLASTIC BEAUTY. CANDIDATES OF THE COUNTRIES AS VENEZUELA, MEXICO , COLOMBIA, PUERTO RICO. AND SOME OTHER COUNTRIES HAVE COSMETIC SURGERIES. BODY AND FACE. BEAUTY IS BEAUTY AND SHOULD BE NATURAL; AS THEY WERE BORN. MANY CANDIDATES DON’T BELIEVE IN PLASTIC SURGERIES, NOR HAVE THE MONEY TO AFFORD THIESE COSTLY SURGERIES. REPRESENTATIVES OF THESE COUNTRIES HAVE WON BECAUSE THEY DEPEND ON PLASTIC SURGURIES AND THE IMPERFECTIONS OF THEIR FACES AND BODY ARE CORRECTED. THIS WAY IS MORE EASIER TO WIN.

  36. BEAUTY SHOULD BE NATURAL. NOT BEAUTIFUL WITH COSMETIC/PLASTIC SURGERIES.

MANY CANDIDATES DON’T BELIEVE IN PLASTIC SURGERIES, NOR HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY THESE COSTLY SURGERIES AND USUALLY DON’T WIN. BEAUTY SHOULD BE NATURAL. THEY SHOULD GO TO COMPETE AS THEY WERE BORN. PLASTIC SURGERIES CORRECT THE IMPERFECTIONS OF BODY AND FACE. THIS WAY IS EASIER TO WIN AGAINST THE ONES THAT DO NO HAVE PLASTIC SURGERIES. 38. they had an entire album filled with photoshoots of the contestants at the hard rock here in Miami. MISS PUERTO RICO (once again) will be miss universe. She is just gorgeous.

  39. CALUDIA SCHIESS, MISS ECUADOR , IS SO BEAUTIFUL. SHE HAS A BEAUTIFUL SMILE. SHE HAS NATURAL BEAUTY. SHE LOOKS FRESH AND CANDID. SHE IS ELEGANT. SHE HAS A BEAUTIFUL FACE AND NICE BODY. SHE HAS INTEGRATED BEAUTY, INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. THE CANDIDATES OF VENEZUELA, COLOMBIA, MEXICO, AND PUERTO RICO HAVE PLASTIC SURGERIES. FACE AND BODY. THE PLASTIC SURGERIES CORRECT THE IMPERFECTIONS OF THESE CANDIDATES AND I BELIEVE THAT IT IS NOT FAIR FOR THE CANDIDATES THAT HAVE NO PLASTIC SURGERIES TO COMPETE WITH THE ONES WITH PLASTIC SURGERIES. MISS ECUADOR IS SO NATURAL, SO FRESH. SHE HAS FAMILY VALUES, SHE IS A STUDENT OF COMMERCIAL ENGINEERING IN THE UNIVERSITY OF GUAYAQUIL. SHE IS A PROFESSIONAL DANCER, SHE IS A MAKE UP ARTIST, AND SHE SPEAKS FOUR LANGUAGES.
I BELIEVE THAT SHE HAS ALL THE ATTRIBUTES/QUALIFICATIONS TO BE AMONG THE THREE FINALISTS AND THEN BE CROWNED MISS UNIVERSE 2011. SHE IS QUALIFIED TO REPRESENT THE BEAUTY OF THE WOMAN IN THIS PLANET.

  44. me acabo de enterar que la Miss Mexico 2011, karen Ontiveros, tiene cirugia plastica en la nariz y en su cuerpo. Como se atreven a decir que son bellas si son plasticas. La LUPITA JONES Y LA XIMENA NAVARRETE, AMBAS MEXICANAS SE HICIERON CIRUGIAS DE LA NARIZ Y DEL CUERPO ANTES DEL CERTAMEN. AHORA CACAREAN QUE SON BELLAS. SOLO EN EL SUENO DE LA MEDIA NOCHE. LA CIRUGIAS HACEN MILAGROS Y ASI CUALQUIERA GANA. BELLEZA NATURAL VS. BELLEZA PLASTICA ES INJUSTO.

  45. A lot of people posted there comments redundantly!!! I hate it!!!!! but BTW!!!!!!!Miss PHILIPPINES!!!!!!!!I is really beautiful other Asian countries also!!!…………………….!!!!
Go Go Philippines I’ll pray for you!!!! You got what it takes to be the Miss Universe this year!!!!!!!

  46. Miss indonesia natural n beautiful,i like….my name andrew country canada. I think the next miss universe 2011, miss indonesia….I love canada

    • No, you’re wrong! Miss Serbia has great chance of winning, she is very beautiful, charming, intelligent, determined, confident girl… Don’t judge her qualities according to one terrible photo.:-p

  47. i didn’t see miss USA Alysa Campanella here, but i think she will bring the crown home. She’s not just independent. She has many of experience when it comes to pageants and she also has the beauty and lots of knowledge to be miss Universe. Will see in the end. Who will bring the crown, but the most competitiveness girls i could tell right now are

    1. Shampcey Sup sup – Miss Philippines
    2. Allysa Campanella – Miss USA
    3. Johanna Solano – Miss Costa Rica
    4. Kim Edri – Miss Israel
    5. Olesya Stefanko – Miss Ukraine

  48. i doubt if shamsey supsup will bring home the crown……..just by looking at her pics hindi ko nakikita ang aura na nakita ko kay venus raj…..and they dont judge the girls at miss universe pageant just because there summa cum laude’s though it is also a factor pero tsaka lng un nalalaman kapag question and answer portion na that is kung makakapasok dun sa round na yun……..tsaka ilang laude’s na ba ang naipadala to compete the said competition but in the end wala pa ring napanalunan kahit isa…….dapat kasi ang mga ipinapadala nila ay yong extraordinary talaga dapat, pero para sa akin hindi naman extraordinary c miss supsup…ang kutob ko talaga hindi xa mananalo……..kahit miss photogenic lang……nong unang beses kong makita ang picture ni venus raj intuition ko talaga she’s going to be a placer during that time and it turns out to be…..sa tingin ko talaga may pag asa xang makuha ung title kung hindi xa kinabahan….and that intuition ko kay venus raj hindi ko na feel kay shamcey supsup nang una kong makita ang pic nya……this is really a challenge for supsup to surpass raj….marami na akong intuition na nagkatotoo just like dayana mendoza when i first look at her pic ang intuition ko talaga she will win and it turned out that she did……this time i had a strong feeling that kosovo, mexico, venezula, indonesia/purto rico and usa will be the top five….and one of this girls will become the miss universe 2011…..during miss universe 2008 ung top five ko sila talaga ung nag top five during the said competition…..columbia, mexico, venezuela, russia and dominican republic…..extraordinary talaga sila……na hindi ko nakikita kay miss supsup…..

  49. lets just face the fact that the philippine representative for the miss universe pageant mostly graduated from the University of the Philippines with laude awards….hindi po tayo dapat nag a anticipate na strong candidates na xa dahil galing xa sa U.P. though U.P. is the number 1 university in the Philippines that is only in the Philippines but in the international arena pang 900+ lang po ang UP which is malayong ma recognize ang katalinuhan ng ating candidate.

    • I don’t think so. What we’re trying to say is that Shamcey can hold her own against other contestants. Also, she’s an architecture board topnotcher — a very male dominated field in the Philippines. Aren’t you happy that our candidate is breaking barriers, for women like you? I like what Shamcey symbolizes — isn’t that the essence Miss U? as it is more than just a parade of boobs and asses?

P.S UP is actually in the top 400 if you check THES-QS. What’s your source if I may ask?

      • well thats my opinion regarding with supsup…..tsaka check this website….. http://www.topstudylinks.com/Top-Universities-in-philippines-c143.aspx…….this is actually the top performing schools in the philippines…….nasa right side makikita ang country rank and nasa left side makikita ang world rank that is as off 2011……pang 976
ang UP sa buong mundo……top notcher nga xa in a very male dominated world but that is only in the philippines because in the international arena lots of women dominate in the male world at hindi na cla magugulat doon kumbaga walang ng impact yun sa kanila…..mas may “wow” factor pa nga c miss angola kaysa kay miss supsup eh….wala ng e bi break si miss supsup dahil matagal ng break ang barrier
between men and women world with respect to their field of discipline……masaya sana ako kung tama ung mga ipinapadala nilang delegates…ang kaso may kulang parin……. im an avid follower of miss u kasi…..marami na akong nakitang factor dun sa mga nanalo…..at nahihirapan akong makita yon kay miss supsup…..to think na pareho pa kaming taga mindanao…..pero matay ko mang pagbali-baliktarin ung pic nya di ko talaga mahanap ung factor na pang miss u……masakit man isipin pero the truth about miss u is really the parade of boobs and asses, a body that is to die for, and a very beautiful face, and to walk naturally and beautifully especially on the gown portion, a voice that is not lame…..and many more……

      • maybe in your part!!!!hindi naman ikaw ang isa sa mga judges ngayon!!!Why we should believe on you????Positivity is the thing that we should have!!!!instead of puting miss Supsup Down, try to show your support As A FILIPINO!!!!!!

    • I agree. She’ll be in the top 15 for sure; there are many strong delegates this year so the jury will have pretty difficult task to decide which girl is the best.

  50. Miss Serbia is a very beautiful girl! Unfortunately, this is one of the worst photos of her. I’ll predict her good placement.
Miss Georgia is my favorite although she doesn’t look like a miss, more like a supermodel!:-)

    • Miss Kosovo looks so fake… like she had dosens of plastic surgeries. And she’s not from Kosovo at all, she’s Montenegro citizen.

  51. I hope Asians will win this year…..

SOUTH KOREA, INDONESIA… they look very beautiful..not just on pics but also in video on YouTube

but of course we can’t deny the facts that Latinas are very competitive in Miss Universe
so its not gonna be a surprise if another latina will win this year….

MEXICO, COLOMBIA, CHILE, ECUADOR and even the host country BRAZIL are all very gorgeous candidates

Miss USA and other European Candidates are also very pretty

I’m a Filipina, so im hoping/praying for Miss Philippines to win…!!

  52. Shamcey, Please give your best!!! I know, you can overshadow them! You have the exceptional talent, beauty and brain! Go for the Philippines!

  53. People be respectfull would you my god ! Latin Beauty is never boring come on ! PLastic SUrgery reallY!!! rumors spread from a very stupid person and they are passed to another stupid person dont believe them ! really grow up ! 55. Wow! Miss Mexico Carin Meza, is extremely beautiful!!! she realy deserves to be crowed miss universe 2011. I like mis Ucranie too. but miss Mexico is the best one, there is no doubt.

  56. Shamcey needs to show more confidence and intelligence for her to standout and i think her hairstyle must be the same with what she had on bb pilipinas. hehe

  57. miss mexico will be miss universe 2011, she’s just perfect and beautiful, i really want her to bring that crown back to mexico!

  60. Most of the asians, other than ms. korea, don’t look like asiana at all. And why do they all have massive boob jobs? I like more slant-eyed asians versus the fake-added on eyelid ones here.

  61. Miss Philippines is deserving to win the crown of Miss Universe 2011.. she’s so beautiful.. she has a talent and smart too.. among the girls who compete for the title of Miss Universe 2011 she can stand out.. her beauty shine like a star.. :)

  62. the most gorgeous lady of all is ms.UKRAINE………..she got a looks,a dazzling eyes, and even a poise to show her utmost personality……I LOVE IT………………………………go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  69. Miss indonesia
Nadine Alexandra Dewi Ames (born May 23, 1991) is an Indonesian

  75. I realize that we all have faith in our contestants and we want our representatives to win, but It’s insane how filipinos are so OBSESSED with this pageant. All i ever read is: Shamcey is the next MU, Philippines will bring home the crown etc etc etc.

I have also read countless of blogs made by filipinos stating that Shamcey is the most favored and the most popular. These people are living in fantasyland. Lets not confuse international popularity with overly obsessed online voters! If you read the Manila newspaper, there are cover stories DAILY suggesting the people to vote daily unto 10 times per day and this also apples if you have multiple email addresses. WHAT? So is the newspaper suggesting that people open multiple email accounts? WOW.

Shamcey is pretty, but she looks much much older then the other contestants. Her catwalk is below average and all of this is going to go against her.

There are already people talking negatively about the overly-obsessed filipino fans with their assumptions in that Shamcey will win. FYI: This does not help Shamcey, on the contrary this will hurt her.

After the pageant is over and if Shamcey doesn’t win, the filipinos will become the laughing joke of MU 2011. You have nobody to blame but yourselves.

  76. u worry too much at you are one big nega. And this is one big free world. So mga kababayan ituloy ang saya.

As to Shamcey. So ituloy yan dahil nkakabuti sa kanya.

On her performance, well wala akong masabi sa disiplina ng babaeng yan. Namumukadkad na ang byuti. Itinatabi na cya sa mga pinakamagaganda. So kung chances, good fighting chance yata cya. And I can really marvel at her discipline. Look at all the poses, she never had a shot where she lets her guard down. The smile is ever consistent, the pose is always perfect balanced, look at the lines always propertionate, and the poise consistent. She projects a nonchalant attitude that is carefree yet studied. Grabeng disiplina ito. Yung ibang contestant wala nag kalat ang pose but she no no no always looking chic. Proud ako kay Shamcey. She is doing all she can.

  77. I think Shamcey got very strong chance in getting one of the top 10 spots, but not really sure on the top 5. there’s so many strong contenders this year. I’m crossing all my fingers that she will got through the semis, then to the top 5 :)

    Go Shamcey make us proud!

  78. Woooow! I’m surprised with the beatiful of asian women,
Look at the MISS KOREA and MISS CHINA! GOOD GOODD !!
    The MISS USA GOOD TOO!
But in this year the Miss Universe wanted to be one of the Asiatic women!

***********WELL SAID XAVIER******* COULDN’T AGREED WITH YOU ANYMORE************

  80. Shamcey has a big chance, I am confident in all aspects. I also like Ms Indonesia & Korea. Ms Angola, BOnaire, Costa Rica and Kosovo were also pretty much at higher grounds.

    Basta goodluck kay Shamcey.

  81. PHILIPPINES WILL SURELY TAKE THE CROWN.,!!!!!! SORRY FOR BOTHERING THE OTHER COUNTRIES………. BUT PHILIPPINES IS THE NO.1 OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL OF ALL,,, OTHERS ARE SO PALE AND OLD,.,,, BUT SHAMCEY SUPSUP IS SO GORGEOUS……………. LOOK AT HER AGAIN, YOU WOULD RATHER IMAGINE HOW PRETTY DHE IS AND INTELLIGENT,,,,,,,, NOT LIKE THE OTHER COUNTIES,,, LACK OF CONFIDENCE,,,,,,,,,!!!!!!! GO MS. PHILIPPINES!!!!!!

    • Shamcey got flowers. No crown, as i suspected weeks and weeks ago. I suggest YOU look at her again. This will clarify your confusion of beautiful and average.

  83. From the girls posted here:
    Polish
    Korean
    Taiwanese
    Chezh
    Switz
    and the one from Kosovo
all look pretty. ( Lets be fair )
But still, I doubt they look as beautiful as general good-looking women of those countries + appearance is only one of the attributes.

  84. it should be Shamcey Supsup who won the Miss Universe 2011 becasue she topped online voting meaning all of the people is expecting her to be crowned.

    • In other countries we work and then have fun with friends and have some type of social life. We love of country and we support our contestants and let the beauty in our contestant talk for itself. Unlike in the Philippines or filipinos abroad who went out of their way to vote 200 times a day and make this contest a daily priority. The Manila newspaper often suggested to open multiple email accounts so one can vote more than the 10 votes daily max. Videos on youtube made from filipinos suggested the same.

So does your last statement make any sense? NO!
